Renewables surpasses fossil power plant spend for 1st time

Fossil fuel takes a ‘battering’

The Los Angeles Times reports that, for the first time, investment in renewable energy surpassed the investment on fossil fuel new power plants.

“Electricity from the wind, sun, waves and biomass drew $187 billion last year compared with $157 billion for natural gas, oil and coal”
