Yorkshire caravan park’s solar panel installation

‘sunny caravanning

Flicking through the Sheffield Star, I saw this story of a Yorkshire farm / caravan park which has just switched on a substantial solar panel installation.

The installed panels will generate between a third and a half of the park/farm’s total energy usage a year.

Interestingly with this particular installation, given the commercial size of it, the installing company have taken a part share in the scheme, which enabled the owner to go for a larger installation than he would have been able to afford himself.

Already, the panels are generating more power than was predicted.

An Apple a Day won’t keep the Green Doctor away.

The Green Doctors – a service being trialled by Groundwork UK is now roving the streets in electric vehicles helping to stamp out fuel poverty.

Fuel poverty is defined as when a household needs to spend more than 10% of its income on fuel use in order to heat the home to an adequate level.

According to the GroundWork UK website – in Yorkshire and Humber alone, fuel poverty affects around 163,000 households.

Head over to the GroundWork UK website now for more details – especially if you live in one of the trial areas.
